Creating a Sterile Field

This section will teach you how to disinfect your surgical theatre, sterilize your tools, and prepare a sterile field.

Disinfection of the Surgical Theater

The best way to maintain a consistent and effective system of preparing your surgical theater is by using checklists. I use two different checklists. One list contains the steps for a terminal cleanse which should be performed prior to beginning procedures for the day. The second list includes tasks that need to be performed between successive procedures.
