CGM – X

The CGM-X is an NFC driven optical glucometer implant intended to determine a users levels with a scan of their mobile phone.

The CGM -X is in active development. One possible form would be a circuit and sensor array enclosed within a biocompatible glass cylinder. The device would then be placed by an associated artist or clinician using a needle.

This campaign is intended to fund the development, prototyping, and testing of the design. The design and methods of fabrication will ultimately be released Open Source. Funding of the Temptress project supports the biohacking community and helps Augmentation Limitless in our endeavors to remove the obstructions to widespread adoption of cybernetics.

The design of the CGM-X is inspired by similar commercial products that have recently entered the market. Developing and testing of an open source alternative enables people to perform research to expand technology as well as employ it in new industries.
The device can be read with a scan or used continuously with an externally worn conduction loop. Uses range from athletic tracking to worker safety.

This funding will allow us to fabricate and test 5 of these devices in volunteers, a process frequently requiring multiple renditions and redesigns. Once the design is finalized remaining funds will be used in signal interpretation and app development.

We’re asking for 60,000 USD to help us make this project a reality. Once ready for a production run, funders will be given a significant discount. Thank you so much for supporting our work and helping build a future available to everyone.
